Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-05

This policy explains when Larnnit issues refunds for purchases on the platform and how to ask. It applies to payments processed through Larnnit (Paystack, M-Pesa, Stripe where enabled). Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country override anything more restrictive in this policy.

1. Digital books in the Marketplace

  • 14-day right of withdrawal (EU/UK). Consumers in the EEA and UK may cancel a digital book purchase within 14 days for a full refund, unless the file has already been downloaded — by completing the download you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m); equivalent UK regulations).
  • Outside the EU/UK. Book purchases are non-refundable once the file has been downloaded, except where the file is materially different from the listing, corrupt, unreadable, or pirated.
  • Duplicate purchase / wrong file. Full refund within 30 days, even after download.

2. Tutor classes and lessons

  • Before the session starts. Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time for a full refund.
  • Late cancellation by the student.Less than 24 hours' notice = no refund. The tutor keeps the booking fee.
  • Tutor no-show or significant delay. Full refund + a credit equal to the session fee. If the tutor repeatedly no-shows, we suspend the account.
  • Quality complaints. Submit within 7 days. Larnnit reviews chat logs, materials, and any recording. Approved complaints are refunded; the tutor may be coached, suspended, or removed depending on severity.
  • Multi-session courses. Cancel at any time. You receive a pro-rata refund for sessions not yet delivered, less any non-refundable enrolment fee disclosed at purchase.

3. Verified badges and subscriptions

  • Verification fees become non-refundable once a badge has been issued (the verification work has been done).
  • Recurring subscriptions are refunded pro-rata for the unused portion of the current period if you cancel within 14 days of renewal in the EU/UK; otherwise cancellation stops the next renewal but the current period continues.

4. General marketplace items (in-person handover)

  • Larnnit's general-listings “cart” saves items for later — the actual transaction happens between buyer and seller in person, in chat, or via their own payment.
  • Larnnit is not party to those transactions and does not issue refunds for them. Buyers and sellers must agree their own terms.
  • Report fraudulent listings to safety@larnnit.com; we will remove them and may suspend the seller.

5. How to ask for a refund

  1. Open the order in Settings → Transactions.
  2. Tap Request a refund and pick a reason.
  3. If the order isn't in your list (rare), email billing@larnnit.com with the transaction date, amount, and recipient.

6. Timing

  • We aim to decide refund requests within 5 working days.
  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days. Some banks and mobile-money operators take longer to credit the funds.
  • Chargebacks initiated with your bank or card issuer bypass this policy. We respond to chargeback evidence requests with our records and may suspend accounts that abuse the chargeback process.

7. Platform fees on refunded transactions

When a refund is issued, the platform commission is reversed. Sellers and tutors do not receive payout on refunded orders. Fraudulent or charged-back transactions may also be clawed back from future payouts.

8. Disputes

If you disagree with a refund decision, email billing@larnnit.comwithin 30 days with new information. EU/UK users may also use national consumer-dispute bodies or, where available, an out-of-court dispute resolution body under the Digital Services Act.
